As I write this, I am grateful to each of you. It’s been a year since we last connected, and we’ve faced some unexpected challenges. Your prayers and support have been invaluable, and I am always overjoyed to share how God has been working in our personal life and community. Please keep us in your prayers, as sharing God’s testimony is a source of great joy and inspiration for all of us.
I am thrilled to announce that we’ve got an exciting year ahead, filled with opportunities to come together in prayer. We are kicking off our monthly community prayer walks, a prelude to our much-anticipated fall prayer walk and retreat! Every first Saturday of the month, we will explore a different community in our city through prayer. We hope you will join us in this journey of faith and unity and even start your prayer walks in your city!
While we don’t need to go out and pray, prayer walking brings forth fellowship and unity as we talk and pray amongst ourselves while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. As we move about, it opens our eyes to the surroundings of our communities and neighbors, which prompts us to pray for them and, in most cases, with them. As you all know, prayer brings forth encouragement and, most importantly, hope.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12
Mark your calendars for our annual prayer retreat, a highlight on our City Gate’s Pray calendar. This year, we’re heading to the Home of Peace in Oakland, CA, for a two-day event on October 4 – 5. We’re excited as we plan this enriching and rejuvenating worship and prayer experience. More details will be shared soon; stay tuned!
Additionally, after much prayer, discussion, and planning, City Gates Pray is launching a sister ministry, Parenting with the Power of Prayer. Our team has met with a few incredible local educators and parents to discuss the value of praying for our children’s teachers and working alongside them to enrich our children’s learning experience from preschool to college. Join us on August 10 for a dynamic conference and ministry kick-off. A formal announcement and registration link will be forthcoming.
