National Day of Prayer Event Training Workshop – Guest Speaker Maggi Schubert

Maggi

Maggi Schubert is a lifelong resident of Sacramento County, the youngest of 8 children born to Dr. James and Gretta Schubert. Raised in an over-achieving Catholic family and having attended Catholic schools, Maggi experienced several traumatic events in her life that led her to doubt the existence of God and his love for her. From her late teens to her early thirties, Maggi was heavily engaged in the “gay life”. In her early 30’s things began to change for Maggi and her perceptions, attitudes and beliefs changed. She made several transitions over time and at 36 years old, she was in a committed relationship with a man and then gave birth to her son, Apollo. After a traumatic work experience, Maggi began to actively seek God and found herself attending services at Bayside of South Sacramento. Under the preaching, teaching and pastoral leading of Bishop Sherwood Carthen, Maggi gave her life to the Lord and was born again. In the fall of 2008, Maggi was called to preach, and at 50 years old, feels that she is created for a time such as this.

Maggi is the super proud mom of Apollo, manages a parole re-entry program for post release offenders and is a member of Bayside Midtown and actively involved in Women’s Ministry. She gives all glory to God for the work He has done in her and is doing through her.
